AILSA KELL WINS WOMEN’s 60 & OVER SINGLES

The CBD Women’s 60 & Over Singles was played on the grass at Seymour VRI on Wednesday 11th November in what started out as a beautiful day on a nicely paced 15 second green but finished with wet weather closing in to complete the day, although getting wet the players pushed through to get to a winner.

There were only a disappointing 4 entrants from the 8 CBD clubs, with 3 coming from Broadford and 1 from Kilmore  so was completed in one day, with round 1 being the semi-finals and round 2 the final.

Round 1 Semi-final Results

Ailsa Kell defeat her Broadford clubmate Jan Goring comfortably dominating the match to win in 14 ends 22 to 2

Pat Donovan (Broadford) won by forfeit as Lesley Hodgson (Kilmore) failed to turn up.

Round 2 Final Results

Ailsa Kell continued with her excellent form in the final defeating her other Broadford clubmate Pat Donovan comfortably scoring  3 x 4’s, 4 x 2’s and 1 single shot, whilst Jan managed just 2 x singles with the match over in just 11 ends for a final result of 21 to 4.

Ailsa will now go on to represent the Central Bowls Division at the Central Goulburn Murray Bowls Region Finals at a venue in the Goulburn Valley some time in February 2021 with the winner of that going on to the State Finals at Bendigo in April 2021.
